MATERIALS
METALON 6 SA natural (white)/black:
This extruded nylon grade offers optimal combination of mechanical strength, stiffness, togetherness, mechanical damping properties and wear resistance. These properties, together with a facorite electrical insulating ability, and a good chemical resistance make METALON 6 SA a general purpose grade for mechanical construction and maintenance..
METALON 6 PLA :
METALON 6 PLA is the most widely used cast nylons in industry, especially as a bearing material. When used for OEM and maintenance requirements, these cast nylons have replaced bronz, brass, steel, aluminium and other metals, as well as other plastics, wood and rubber. METALON 6 PLA provides extreemly good wear resistance, coupled with high tensile strength and modulus of elasticity. METALON 6 PLA cast nylons function exceptionally well with lubrication and without lubrication under low PV limits.
METALON GSM : A cast, particularly cross-linked, nylon 6 material with additives which, like nylon 66 MoS2, has been modified with an MoS2 filter. This gives excellent wear resistance, self lubrication and low friction characteristics. It is an ideal material for dynamic bearing applications, even at elevated temperatures upto 100oC. These superior mechanical properties, combined with lower moisture absorption, extend its range of uses over METALON 6 PLA
METALON OILON GOLD:
An advanced material METALON OILON GOLD was specially developed to extend the wear-resistant properties of unlubricated or dry lubricated materials such as MoS2 filled nylons. During the manufecturing process, an oil based lubricant package is carefully dispersed through a proprietary process which takes full advantage of the lubricants effects without weakening the polymeric structure. The result is highly crystalline, internally lubricated, high strength polymer with enhanced wear resistance (upto x 10) and reduced coefficient of friction (-50%).
METALON MC 901:
A tough, heat stabilised cast nylon 6. It is easily distinguished from the other cast nylon products in the DSM Surlon range by its distinctive blue color. METALON MC 901 has better impact strength and fatigue resistance compared with other cast nylons in the range. It has proved an outstanding material for large gears, racks and pinions, successfully replacing phosphorus bronz and cast iron in many applications.
